The Galina

Galina considers herself to be a beginning artist - she only started participating in the art classes at JASA Senior Alliance six months ago.

"I have always liked art very much and dreamt of becoming a graphic designer. When I finished school, I went to apply to an art institute but realized I had to draw but had never drawn before."

 Instead of becoming a graphic designer, Galina went on to have a successful career as a pattern designer for Ralph Lauren for almost 30 years in Manhattan.

When she retired, she decided to fulfill her dream and started drawing. She now participates in the weekly art classes and loves it.
