Galina was born in Ukraine and worked as a hydraulics engineer in Almaty. Her career continued in America where she worked as an AutoCAD operator designer in architectural firms. Although she had never painted before, she loved it and admired the works of great masters while living in New York.
Upon her retirement, Galina found herself with a lot of free time and decided to try her hand at painting. She took various online lessons and eventually found herself at JASA, where she stayed and continued to pursue her passion for painting.
"This is a great place where you can not only learn how to draw but also see the work of others, listen to the teacher’s comments, and take part in exhibitions. I really love traveling and always bring a lot of photographs from my travels and now I have the opportunity to transfer my impressions to canvas.”
This hat and poncho is handmade with love and care by JASA seniors. Treat yourself today and support older New Yorkers!
